Jewish Youth for Community Action
Program Area(s) | |
Description | For two decades, Jewish Youth for Community Action has led young people and their adult allies to work for social change in the East Bay. High school student participants devote significant time to leadership training and to learning about racism, sexism, and income inequality. They then volunteer with local organizations working on a selected issue of concern. In 2015, 25% of Jewish Youth for Community Action participants were Jews of color and 20% identified as LGBTQ. Its participants also received the Champion of Justice Award for their Stop Harassing campaign at Berkeley High School in 2015. |
