Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay
Program Area(s) | |
Description | Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay (JF&CS) has a rich history of providing resettlement services to refugees who have experienced ethnic or religious discrimination in their home countries. This grant supports the continuation of their Arabic language translation services, along with mental health and case management services for immigrants and refugees. In 2015, more than 200 Iraqi refugees arrived in Alameda County, with many having experienced intense political and religious persecution and wartime trauma. JF&CS has also begun to serve a particularly vulnerable population — gay men from Middle Eastern countries. |
