As noted in the recent Pew Study on American Jewish Life, Israel interests the majority of American Jews, but many feel stifled when it comes to questioning Israel’s policies in regard to Palestinians. College campuses have long been challenged by divisive positions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. J Street U was created in response, encouraging college students to engage in pro-Israel programs that support a two-state solution. This grant aids in the launch of J Street U chapters at San Francisco State and San Jose State and helps grow the Stanford and UC Berkeley chapters.
