Intersection for the Arts
Program Area(s) | |
Description | Working to reach out to disenfranchised youth living on the streets, Intersection for the Arts was created 50 years ago as a ministry by three liberal Protestant churches. Celebrating its anniversary in 2015, Intersection is producing free events: a benefit concert at Glide Memorial Church; a photography exhibit by Tenderloin youth; an exhibit of publications and ephemera from its history; oral history recordings (with StoryCorps); and conversations between artists at the Tenderloin Museum. In celebrating its history, Intersection emphasizes connecting people and communities across physical, social, cultural, and economic boundaries — a theme that resonates with its history and with the Fund’s arts priorities. |
