Housing and Economic Rights Advocates (HERA) provides legal advice and representation to seniors, immigrants, and other low-income and vulnerable populations who frequently get taken advantage of by financial service providers. HERA is increasingly called upon to assist on financial abuse issues, specifically credit report errors that credit companies resist fixing and fraudulent attempts to collect inflated or un-owed debt. Each year HERA’s efforts assist hundreds of clients to defend themselves and their financial security.
