Heyday

Program Area(s)
Description

Independent, nonprofit publisher and cultural institution Heyday promotes awareness of California’s cultures, landscapes, history, and ideas—particularly California’s dispersed and fragile Native population. Heyday publishes news and books by and about Native Californians. It produces events featuring Native artists and intellectuals, honoring Native history and encouraging contemporary expressions from tribes. Heyday collects all these programs into The Roundhouse; this capacity-building grant from the Fund supports Bay Area Roundhouse programs, helping Heyday to serve a marginalized population group.
