Hebrew Free Loan Association of San Francisco
Program Area(s) | |
Description | Since 1897, Hebrew Free Loan Association of San Francisco has been providing interest-free loans to Jewish individuals and families. The majority of its portfolio currently consists of student loans — college tuition costs have risen dramatically, leading undergraduates to borrow 63% more than they did a decade ago. To meet this increased need, Hebrew Free Loan Association is creating, for the first time, a nonsectarian loan program to help non-Jewish low-income students cover undergraduate education costs. In 2014, it expects to award loans to approximately 20 individuals. |
