Good Samaritan Family Resource Center of San Francisco

Program Area(s)
Description

Good Samaritan Family Resource Center was founded in 1894 as a settlement house for immigrants. It has focused on aiding low-income children and families from Mexico, Central America, and South America, helping newcomer youth connect with peers and engage in school. These programs include a yearlong program of twice-weekly art classes; an after-school art club; and cultural field trips. Good Samaritan depends on its arts classes to improve participants’ social skills and to provide them with opportunity for emotional healing.
