Golden Thread Productions is the first American theater company to focus exclusively on the Middle East. It features playwrights from the Middle East as well those of Middle Eastern descent who live elsewhere. Golden Thread’s ReOrient Festival and Forum, produced once every three years, features short plays and follow-up programming with artists and scholars who contextualize the festival’s themes. ReOrient draws a religiously diverse audience and brings to the stage many artists with whom attendees would otherwise lack a connection. Golden Thread contributes to the cultural richness of the Bay Area community, helping to engage and involve residents of disparate backgrounds.
