| Description | Despite advancing civil rights protections for lesbians and gays, transgender people continue to be marginalized. Fresh Meat Productions seeks to bridge the LGBT community’s differences by: promoting the professional development of transgender artists; advocating for empowerment of all LGBT individuals; and enabling transgender people to see their lives and concerns expressed through the arts. Fresh Meat’s programs include producing original dance works, presenting an annual performance festival, and co-sponsoring the performances affiliated with the Trans March. This group attracts a relatively young audience to its programming, a third of whom identify as transgender. |
