Facing History and Ourselves helps students of diverse backgrounds to become more informed citizens through examination of racism, prejudice, and anti-Semitism. Its Bay Area office serves more than 7,000 teachers who engage 330,000 students annually with a curriculum designed to foster civic responsibility. Since the 2016 Presidential election, Facing History and Ourselves’ materials have been increasingly sought after by educators who struggle to soothe rising levels of fear in their classrooms. This grant enables the organization to expand its reach and meet that increasing demand so as to reduce prejudice in our communities.
