| Description | Based in Oakland, Dimensions Dance Theater performs traditional African, African American, and contemporary dance steeped in the black experience. Its long-running youth program serves some 850 East Bay youth, aged 8 to 20, many of whom come from low-income families. Classes are offered at Oakland Unified School District and Oakland Recreation and Parks Department sites as well as at the Theater’s base in downtown Oakland. Advanced program students participate in professionally produced performances and learn to develop their own choreography. |
