| Description | Dimensions Dance Theater’s Rites of Passage program annually serves 1,000 youth, aged 8 to 20, 70% of whom are African American girls. The program encompasses in-school, after-school, and summer dance and percussion classes for East Bay youth, accompanied by opportunities to perform. Teaching artists meet with students at Oakland public schools multiple times per week. Dimensions’ after-school and summer classes include college counseling, homework assistance, and workshops in life skills and leadership development, with no student turned away for an inability to pay. |
