| Description | In 1996, long-running Bay Area feminist dance company, The Dance Brigade, launched Grrrl Brigade, a multicultural arts education and leadership program for girls aged 6 to 18. Grrrl Brigade focuses on serving Mission District families, with one-third of its roughly 300 participants attending for free or at reduced rates. Participating girls learn new dance skills and discover their capacity for creative expression. Going forward, Grrrl Brigade aims to maintain its 95% retention rate so it can help students hone their skills over multiple years. |
