Cypress Mandela Training Center is the premier construction skills training program in the East Bay. Its intensive pre-apprenticeship training gives students 16 full-time weeks of hands-on and classroom-based training in both construction trade fundamentals and the basics of specific trades. Participants also benefit from life skills training, professional development, job placement support, and college credit. Cypress Mandela maintains strong relationships with employers, construction trade unions, and a wide network of developers and contractors. In 2015 and 2016, over 85% of its graduates were placed in jobs in the trades, earning an average starting wage of $18 per hour.
