| Description | The Cypress Mandela Training Center is a construction skills training program in the East Bay. Its trainees learn fundamentals such as applied math, blueprint reading, and worksite safety, along with the basics of specific trades including carpentry, ironwork, and plumbing. Students earn community college credits and may test for certifications. Cypress has developed deep relationships with all the construction trade unions and with a wide network of developers and contractors, helping graduates to secure jobs with an average starting wage of $18 per hour. |
