| Description | Sha’ar Zahav was founded almost four decades ago as an LGBTQ congregation in a then-unwelcoming San Francisco. Today, more San Francisco synagogues include LGBTQ members and many straight individuals and families have joined Sha’ar Zahav. Sha’ar Zahav is, as a consequence, facing a transition; its staff and congregants seek to understand how LGBTQ culture and values can continue to inform the synagogue in its longevity. This grant supports that organizational planning process. |
