Community Resources for Science

Program Area(s)
Description

Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) requires 60 to 90 minutes a week of science instruction in all elementary school classrooms, but teachers often struggle to deliver this instruction effectively. In response, Community Resources for Science partners with OUSD to provide elementary school teachers with access to science materials and lessons along with professional development for lead science teachers, who serve as resource specialists within their schools. This grant helps Community Resources to provide intensive support to West Oakland elementary schools.
