Community Music Center has extended free and low-cost music study to San Franciscans for over 94 years. In 2015 it served 2,400 students of all ages (66% of whom received financial aid). Its recent program developments include broadening the range of instruction offered, expanding choir groups to serve more senior centers, and investing in capacity-building and board development. The Center is in the midst of a capital campaign to double the size of its campus. Over 2016 and 2017 it will work to increase awareness of its offerings, develop its board, revisit governance and board policies, and uphold its mission of accessibility for all.
