Community Music Center makes music study accessible through its San Francisco Mission District base and through other programs distributed throughout the city. In 2013, the Center served over 2,300 students, with two-thirds receiving financial aid. Community Music Center reaches a remarkably diverse group of students, ranging from four to 94-years old, and representing a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. The Center offers classes and performances that cover an array of musical styles and traditions, in both Spanish and English. A two-phase capital campaign, underway in 2014, aims to double the size of the Community Music Center’s busy Mission District campus.
