Closing the Women’s Wealth Gap Initiative addresses the striking gap in wealth between men and women. Women may earn only 79 cents for every dollar men earn, but they own far less — only 32 cents for every dollar a man owns. This already wide gap is even greater for women of color, with black and Latina women owning just pennies on the dollar compared to white men. The Initiative’s long-term goal is to advance policy and practical strategies to close this gap, building wealth for lower-income women and women of color.
