Challah for Hunger

Program Area(s)
Description

On 78 college campuses, Challah for Hunger unites students to bake and sell challah to raise money and spread awareness about hunger. Chapters recruit from student organizations including LGBTQ centers and Muslim student groups, with 75% of volunteers participating more than twice a month. Participants also learn about and select local organizations to receive half of the proceeds from sales; the remaining half supports Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger. This grant supports the growth of Challah for Hunger chapters at Stanford and University of California at Berkeley.
