Center for Cities and Schools

Program Area(s)
Description

Center for Cities and Schools conducts research, provides education, and facilitates collaborative policymaking to improve public schools and the urban communities around them. It provides teachers with curricula, training, and support so they can offer their students real-world, project-based learning experiences. It also collaborates with the African American Male Achievement Initiative to engage students in work on community planning issues, such as access to public transit, and seeks to better understand what limits teacher retention in Bayview schools so as to help keep competent teachers in classrooms.
