California Budget Project
Program Area(s) | |
Description | California Budget and Policy Center is a primary and trusted source of state budget and policy information for policymakers, the media, community leaders, and advocates. Through its fact-based, nonpartisan analyses, it focuses on how budget and tax policies affect low- and middle-income Californians. It publishes and disseminates briefing papers and reports, holds an annual conference, hosts policy briefings, makes presentations, and provides trainings and technical assistance. The Center released the first-ever Women’s Well-Being Index, a comprehensive tool that examines economic conditions and regional variations for women and children throughout California. Its research and analysis also played a critical role in implementing California’s first-ever Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) in 2016. |
