Benevolent manages a crowd-giving platform that enables individual donors to directly help people in need. Through Benevolent’s website, low-income adults describe the challenges that currently block them from achieving their personal goals. Local nonprofit professionals validate these stories, which then get published to the site so visitors can opt to contribute funds. Benevolent has facilitated nearly 5,000 donations to more than 600 people. This grant funds outreach to those Bay Area nonprofits whose clients might benefit from Benevolent’s platform.
