Bay Area Workforce Collaborative invests in a regional training system that prepares low-skilled and disadvantaged workers for jobs in high-demand industry sectors. These jobs provide economic security to families that would otherwise struggle financially. The Workforce Collaborative will invest $1.6 million in four Bay Area community colleges, helping them to implement a program that will assist participants in making the transition to college and into career training pathways. In 2013, the Collaborative will focus its grantmaking on public policy and systems change, aligning public resources in support of effective practice in the workforce system.
