Description | Through its ArtEsteem classes, Attitudinal Healing Connection reaches approximately 1,500 disadvantaged students in 11 Bay Area schools. Participants explore visual arts disciplines and study rhythm, sound, and movement. Attitudinal Healing also gives voice to children’s ideas about who should be considered an Oakland “super hero” through the painting of murals. Tragically, muralist Antonio Ramos was murdered in a drive-by shooting while working on this project. This grant helps to enrich Bay Area children through both ArtEsteem classes and the mural project, to be continued in honor of Ramos. |
