| Description | For 11 years, a single artist has worked with every student at West Oakland’s Prescott Elementary—a school serving a socio-economically disadvantaged community. She transformed an unused classroom into a visual arts studio where students can work on projects. In 2016, this artist’s fiscal sponsor closed and the Fund was among those that stepped in to help continue her funding. The consistency of this artist’s presence is essential to maintaining students’ trust and to continuing her rigorous and well-designed curriculum. |
