Alameda County Office of Education

Program Area(s)
Description

The Alameda County Office of Education trains teachers and teaching artists in how to effectively integrate arts education with the teaching of other academic subjects. Attending professional development classes or an annual summer institute qualifies participants as specialists, preparing them to pass the benefits of arts education on to students. In 2015-16, the Office of Education will work to further align its trainings with the Common Core State Standards and to enhance them with sessions on incorporating technology. A commitment to evaluation and continued work with a network of principals keeps this program responsive to the needs of students.
