Alameda County Community Food Bank

Program Area(s)
Description

This grant provides general operating support to Alameda County Community Food Bank, which is on an ambitious 5-year path to end hunger in Alameda County. Through a network of 240 strategically placed member agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, child-care centers, senior centers, after-school programs and other community-based organizations – as well as our own direct-distribution programs, the Food Bank distributes enough food to serve 1 in 5 Alameda County residents. That translates to 116,000 people each month, a majority of whom are children and seniors.
