Aim High for High School
Program Area(s) | |
Description | AIM High operates the Bay Area’s largest tuition-free summer academic program for middle school students in high-need neighborhoods. To aid in talent development, it invests heavily in professional development and recruits staff members from among its program graduates. To further encourage graduates to pursue careers in education, AIM High built a teacher-pipeline program into its strategic plan. In 2017, it will launch a 10-week teaching immersion experience for program graduates interested in teaching in Bay Area public schools. The college students enrolled will receive two weeks of professional development, gain experience as teachers’ aides, and benefit from career exploration support as they apply to teacher certificate programs. |
