Aim High operates the Bay Area’s largest tuition-free summer academic program for high-need middle school students. Its summer school classrooms are run by a combination of lead teachers, teaching interns, and teacher assistants. Aim High endeavors to formalize a teacher pipeline for its interns and assistants. Given the demographics of its summer teaching force, this pathway has the potential to attract diverse, low-income, bilingual people of color to teaching, an outcome the Fund supports.
