Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project operates a safe space in East Oakland in which children, youth, and families can actively grow produce. The produce participants farm then gets sold to area residents at below-market rates, with proceeds going into individual development accounts that help local youth save for college. Acta Non Verba’s model combines nutrition, asset-building, youth development, and vocational training to improve participants’ economic security across multiple fronts.
