At a time when San Francisco’s Mission District is gentrifying, Acción Latina provides a meaningful cultural touchstone and gathering place for Latino community members. Acción Latina publishes El Tecolote, a bilingual newspaper, a music festival, and — more recently — a gallery, lecture, and performance space on 24th Street. This grant helps build board and staff capacity for Acción Latina, with a particular focus on professionalization of its new gallery; funding policy, standards, and materials development; and supporting the training of the organization’s new executive director.
