With a cadre of trained volunteers, 826 Valencia provides students with small group and one-on-one support to strengthen their ability to communicate their ideas effectively, creatively, and confidently in writing. This grant supports 826 Valencia’s in-school Writers’ Room program, which collaborates with teachers in two high-need San Francisco public schools to provide project-based writing opportunities aligned with Common Core standards.
