With its cadre of trained volunteers, 826 Valencia provides students with small group and one-on-one support in strengthening written communication skills. This grant supports 826 Valencia’s in-school program in San Francisco, which collaborates with schools to provide project-based writing opportunities focusing on Common Core writing standards. The improvements in writing skills that 826 Valencia engenders prove valuable in ensuring students’ future success.
