3rd i South Asian Independent Film produces an annual film festival focused on the Bay Area’s growing South Asian community. Its 2018 festival screened work by independent South Asian filmmakers from around the world, with sixty-five percent of included films directed by women. This grant of general operating support helps 3rd i reach South Asians of many faiths and national and ethnic backgrounds, and to further diversify its festival audiences, bringing together people of different cultures.
