Each November, the 3rd i South Asian Film Festival unites approximately 5,000 audience members, about 80% of whom are of South Asian descent. The Festival promotes interactions among South Asians who speak different languages, represent different ethnic groups, and adhere to a variety of faiths. The 2013 3^rd i festival screened films exploring gender identity and sexuality from many perspectives. It also drew in family audiences with screenings and discussions about cricket, a sport that is extremely popular in South Asia.
