Streetside Stories

Program Area(s)
Description

Streetside Stories is a literary and media arts organization that has delivered storytelling and arts programming to more than 27,000 Bay Area students. Students’ stories get explored through visual art, photography, animation, poetry, performance, and creative media arts projects. Workshops are held via schools, after-school programs, community centers, and public housing sites. Streetside had benefitted from several major grants from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement, but that grant program has ended. This multi-year grant from W&EHF is meant to help the organization transition to new funding sources and to navigate strategic restructuring to reduce overhead.
