| Description | San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) serves approximately 3,000 newcomer English learner students and operates newcomer pathways in 13 schools. With W&EHF funding, in 2017-18, SFUSD offered 40 newcomer teachers training and support on a set of strategies that have been shown to improve English learner writing, English language, and analytical skills. SFUSD aims to increase participation in this training with the ultimate goal of training all secondary newcomer teachers who teach at least two classes designed for English-language learners on these strategies by 2019-20. |
