| Description | American Conservatory Theatre’s ACTsmart Intensive Residencies provide semester- and year-long theater training for youth at eight San Francisco public middle and high schools. Each residency culminates with a performance of works created by the students. As demand for the program exceeds capacity, A.C.T. is experimenting with shorter residencies at additional schools to reach more students. Classroom teachers praise ACTsmart for building student confidence, empowering youth, and engaging participants in learning. |
