T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights

Program Area(s)
Description

T’ruah: A Rabbinic Call for Human Rights engages rabbis and cantors to advance the human rights of all people. Its network of 1,800 rabbis and cantors have engaged in social-justice campaigns ranging from the plight of tomato growers in Florida to the fight for a $15 minimum wage. Following the 2016 Presidential election, 200 T’ruah members met for a three-day training on organizing, offering sanctuary, op-ed writing, and addressing anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. That convening was oversubscribed and this grant helped to support a second convening in the Bay Area to reach more participants.
