Jazz composer and musician Marcus Shelby created a two-act jazz oratorio, Harriet Tubman: Bound for the Promised Land, in collaboration with Yerba Buena Arts and Events. The project was supported in part by a grant from the Creative Work Fund. Yerba Buena Arts and Events' free weekend and lunchtime programming is supported through the Walter and Elise Haas Fund's cultural commons guideline area.
