In 2012, Jewish environmental education center Urban Adamah produced 14,000 pounds of food and welcomed 3,800 visitors. In 2013, the center’s popular farmer’s market-style food bank will distribute 16,000 pounds of produce each week. It will work with more than 35 Jewish organizations and synagogues to enrich educational offerings and it will host more than 5,000 visitors at programs and festivals. Urban Adamah also plans to operate three cohorts for the 36 fellows who run the farm and intern with local nonprofit organizations.
