California’s Paid Family Leave Act assures employees up to six weeks of paid leave to care for a new baby or seriously ill family member—a benefit financed by the employee’s contributions to the state’s Disability Insurance Program. This grant from the Fund supports public education in partnership with the California Employment Development Department, aiming to broaden awareness of this important public benefit. Work will include disseminating information, updating paidfamilyleave.org, and training social workers and healthcare providers.
