The number of Jewish young adults seeking to participate in economic justice and human rights activities is growing yet the number of foundations that provide meaningful support to Jewish social justice activities remains limited. In an effort to attract new donors to this field, the Nathan Cummings Foundation approached the Walter and Elise Haas Fund and other foundations to join a pooled fund to be administered by the Jewish Funders Network. The goal is to create a $1 million pool of funds for Jewish social change efforts, to be awarded as matching grants to organizations that find new or additional support from individuals or foundations.
