Educators and clergy are mandated reporters, required by law to notify authorities when domestic violence or sexual abuse is suspected. They may also be approached as trusted confidantes at such times, but they often lack the training to deal appropriately with victims. This grant supported a November 2015 conference for Jewish professionals that taught participants to recognize the signs of child sexual abuse. The conference also provided resources to help institutions prevent and respond more effectively to this crime.
